As a single dad, maybe this might not be your first concern. After all, many times you just want to know if you look hot and sexy in your sleek … minivan! But hey, put on your dream hat, and remember, you are still a man and you deserve that Lamborghini in the showroom.

He is completely hands on.  In fact, he has been member of the Porsche club since 1986 and is an active participant of the PCA Drivers education and Club Racing for 20 years. He personally designs and tests all of Fabspeed Motorsport performance products. He has assembled a team of professionals with over 150 years of combined experience. Fabspeed doesn’t sell you a new Lamborghini.  But after possibly dropping a cool six figures, you just can’t stand the way it runs or sounds.  (Really, this does happen) Fabspeed comes to the rescue! Single Dad Life had the chance to catch up with Joe.

SDL: Can you share with us a little about how and why your company got started?

Joe: I have owned some of these cars and was not satisfied with what aftermarket products were available and the price so I designed my own parts for my cars and then others asked about getting a system for their car.

SDL: You obviously see a lot of amazing cars. Is there one that stands out that still makes you say WOW?

Joe: I like the  Ferrari cars the most as their design and style is incredible. Lamborghini’s Gallardo is great too.

SDL:  What effect, if any, has the economy had on your business?

Joe: We were affected by the recession when the DOW went below 6000 things got slow. We have been okay as people love their toys.

SDL: You have customers all around the world.  You must have some great stories. Any particular ones you can share?

Joe: Not really. Just people with exotic cars around the world.

SDL: For the single dads reading this who are in the upper tax bracket, any tips to buying a high end car and what is the most requested modification?

Joe: Just shop hard and don’t be afraid to low-ball a dealer to get a car that interests you. Money is king and deals are all around. Most customers change out the exhaust system to make the car louder. Don’t assume that because the car looks cool it sounds cool.

SDL: OK, this begs to be asked. Does driving a Lamborghini or Ferrari pretty much guarantee you will meet a girl in a bikini?

Joe: Exotic cars can get you laid and get you noticed. A cool car will attract a lot of attention and some guys buy a car for the attention. I find it annoying as I like the car as the car is artwork that you can enjoy………..sometimes you have issues like jealousy and other people in Minivans and rustbuckets will occasionally give you the finger! When I was dating and cruising in Porsche and other cars………sometime my date would get the finger! It has only happened 5 times in 12 years. Also an expensive exotic car makes you worry…………where you park, door dings/dents……..you don’t drive it in bad weather.

SDL: Last question Joe, what car do you drive?

Joe: I have a Ferrari 360 spider, 3 Porsche cars (993 RSCS race car, 930S slantnose and a convertible) Daily driver is a SUV
